Blanchfield vs. Barber 2

By MMA News & Real Combat Media MMA

Las Vegas, NV (June 1st, 2025)– UFC Fight Night took place tonight from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and Real Combat Media MMA has you covered with all the results and highlights!

In the main event, women’s flyweights Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber were set to fight, however the fight was canceled just as the fighters were about to enter the cage. In the co-main event, Mateusz Gamrot faced off with Ludovit Klein in a lightweight matchup.

Gamrot came out aggressively, kicking and doubling up on his right hand. Remaining on the defensive, Klein circled the Octagon’s perimeter. Nevertheless, the first one or two strikes of the battle landed hard when he finally opened up. After a brief moment, Gamrot committed to his initial single leg of the bout, which successfully brought Klein to the ground. While Klein stood back up, Gamrot circled around him. Gamrot maintained pressure on the Slovak fighter as he attempted to battle for hand control, staying close to Klein like a sticky substance. He overwhelmed a helpless Ludovit Klein with knees and short strikes to finish the round in first place. Although it wasn’t pretty, the top-ranked Lightweight contender’s first round was impressive.

The main event on Saturday night featuring Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber at UFC Vegas 107, streamed live on ESPN+ from UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, was abruptly canceled just moments before it was set to begin due to a medical problem involving “The Future. ”

Following Mateusz Gamrot’s victory over Ľudovít Klein in the co-main event, the UFC production team showcased a promo for the UFC Vegas 107 headliner. As it concluded, the broadcast switched to UFC announcer Brendan Fitzgerald, who announced that Barber was unable to walk to the Octagon. Although some time was still being allowed to resolve the situation, it was clear that something was seriously wrong.

When the UFC Vegas 107 broadcast resumed, it was announced that Barber was classified as “medically unfit” to participate, leading to the cancellation of the main event. The broadcast team, which included former UFC champion Daniel Cormier, was left in shock over the timing of the situation. At that moment, the specifics regarding Barber’s condition were still unclear.

Later during the broadcast, UFC’s Megan Olivi spoke to Blanchfield backstage and inquired about what had happened. Blanchfield revealed that UFC’s Hunter Campbell had entered her locker room to inform her that Barber had experienced a “seizure. ” Hopefully, that is not the case, and we will continue to share updates as information becomes available.
