Canadian Heavyweight Champ Carman Ends Razor Ruddock Comeback Attempt

Toronto, Canada (September 12, 2015)– The comeback attempt of former heavyweight contender Donavan ‘Razor’ Ruddock at age 51 after a 14 year layoff ended in the third round last night, September 11, 2015, when Canadian Heavyweight champion Dillion Carman knocked him down, and then knocked him out in the third round at Ricoh Coliseum, in Toronto, Canada. Ruddock, 40-6-1 with 30 knockouts, Toronto, Canada, had not lost a fight since June 1995 when he was stopped by the late Tommy Morrison in a bout for the IBC World Heavyweight title in Kansas City, Missouri. Ruddock was bidding to become the oldest man to fight for and also win the world heavyweight title or a share of it. The age record is held by George Foreman.
Carman, 9-2 with eight knockouts, Mississauga, Canada, has not yet qualified for a shot at World Heavyweight champions Wladimir Klitschko or Deontay Wilder, but he successfully defended the Canadian Heavyweight championship he won against Eric Mohaeli in October 2014 in Toronto. Carman also got the noisy aging Razor Ruddock off his back.
