Germany Wins World Cup 1-0, Wladimir Klitschko Faces A Cobra’s Venom in Hamburg
By Robert Brizel, Head RCM Boxing Correspondent
Germany has made its statement, winning the 2014 World Cup in Brazil by defeating Argentina 1-0.
Wladimir Klitschko is 38 years old, and will defend his share of the world heavyweight title on September 6, 2014, at O2 World arena in Altona, Hamburg, Germany. Klitschko, 62-3 with 52 knockouts, has won 20 consecutive fights in 10 years, including 18 consecutive world title fights.
Klitschko’s reign is soon to end. 20-0 Bulgarian Kubrat ‘The Cobra’ Pulev is five years younger, and a much more seasoned technical fighter than Klitschko is. Pulev can get inside and land power shots while doing considerable damage. Klitschko has been picked apart by Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster.
I like Pulev to win. Klitschko is about to face a superior boxer in many respects. Perhaps he can get a gift decision but I don’t think so. Nor do I think it will be an upset if Pulev wins. Pulev is a calm, hard-working meticulous boxer who finds the way to win.
