By Antonio Santiago, Real Combat Media MMA Correspondent
Indianapolis, In(August 29th, 2013)– In a fight that lived up to its expectations, the rematch, Condit vs Kampmann II was indeed the “Fight of The Night” as declared by Dana White.
Kampmann starts out the fight immediately shooting in on Condit, scoring the takedown and keeping Condit on his back for the first half of R1. Condit finds his way to his feet, but before the round is over its Kampmann with two more takedowns as the round ends its “The Hitman” ahead on the scorecards on top of Condit.
In round 2 its Condit wasting no time letting his hands go with a striking attack, but Kampmann answers, a great exchange by both warriors until Kampmann scores a single leg takedown to stop the assault. By this point in R2 Condit has Kampmann figured out and is finding his range, and re-launches a striking attack, right up the middle on Kampmann. As the round comes to a halt its “The Hitman” looking a little banged up. Condit evens it up and takes the round, out striking Kampmann and stopping the takedowns.
Round 3 is all Condit. “The Natural Born Killer” denies all the Kampmann takedowns and puts on a striking clinic. Kampmanns face is not in picture perfect condition. As the blood coveres the face of Kampmann, Condit goes in for the kill. In what looked to be a finish via RNC by Condit, Kampmann some how scrambled out and R3 is over
Kampmann not running on a full tank of gas as we go into the 4th round. He comes in for a few customary takedown attempts and strikes but was all Condit as he took over where he left off in the previous round landing a vicious head-body left hook combo. that dropped Kampmann “The Natural Born Killer” swarmed his prey and referee Herb Dean has seen enough.
