Analysis

Daniel Geale is an awkward style fighter. Is reflexes are very good. Geale is a quick thinker.  Geale’s style is not that of a normal boxer. Geale is hard to figure out. He’s quick and has power but you don’t see it. He can even beat Sergio Gabriel Martinez, and would also beat Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Emile Griffith and Roberto Duran. Geale can easily beat Julio Chavez, Peter Quillin, Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs.

Only one fighter today has the potential to beat Daniel Geale. Three fighters with contrasting styles of yesteryear would give Geale trouble. Bernard Hopkins is not, and Sugar Ray Robinson and Carlos Monzon were not one style fighters. They would have set the bout tempo, and roughed up Geale on the inside from the start while outmaneuvering him. One fighter today with that ability is Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam of France. N’Jikam fights both inside and outside and his style could conceivably beat Geale. You cannot fight with one style-and hope to beat Geale.

Predictions

For Darren Barker to beat Geale, Barker will have to take the fight to Geale and rough him up on the inside. Such a game plan is hard to execute against Daniel Geale. If Barker fights a caution fight, he will go 12 rounds but win none of them. If Barker tries to rough Geale up, and Barker cannot shift his movement, Geale will stop Barker in nine or ten rounds.  Jhonatan Romero of Cal, Columbia (23-0) Win 12 over Kiko Martinez of Alicante, Spain, IBF Super Bantamweight World Championship in the televised preliminary bout to the main event. Undercard-Thomas Dulorme Win TKO 9 Frankie Figueroa, welterweights.
