Baby Tito Dominguez Highlights Resorts Aqueduct May 4 Card
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Correspondent
New York,NY (April 30th, 2013)– Exciting rising Dominican prospect Juan ‘Baby Tito’ Dominguez will appear in the main event of a scheduled nine bout card at Resorts World Casino Aqueduct Raceway in Queens, New York, co-promoted by the team of Wilson Naranjo’s W.O.N. Promotions, James Foley’s Old World Boxing Promotions, Felipe Gomez’ New Legend Boxing, and Kevin O’Sullivan’s New Legend Boxing.
The hard-hitting Dominguez, 13-0, nine knockouts, Brooklyn, New York, will square off in a scheduled ten rounder against southpaw Manuel de los Reyes Herrera, 20-11-1, 14 knockouts, Planeta Rica, Columbia. The hard punching ‘Baby Tito’ should take out Herrera for the ten count in five rounds or less. Based on Dominguez’ solid performances, sooner would seem to be the rule rather than later.
There are two scheduled preliminary eight round bouts preceding the main event.
Brooklyn light middleweight prospect Frank Galarza, 9-0-1, takes on New York city journeyman Jason Thompson, a winner of only one of his last eight bouts, in a tune up which should not go the distance as Galarza is a disciplined and sharp all around fighter who knows how to close the show. Light heavyweight Joe Smith Jr. of Long Island 11-1, takes on the deceptive and dangerous record of Bed-Stuyvesant Brooklyn’s Hamid Abdul-Mateen, a hard fought 3-3 with bout decisions which could have gone either way. Mateen in the younger brother of the late former world cruiserweight champion Ernest ‘M-16 Mateen’, who was shot to death in a domestic dispute by his wife last year. Smith’s record includes a questionable stoppage loss to Eddie Caminero, an eight loss fighter knocked out in four of his last five bouts.
