Southpaw Ronson Frank Headlines Uprising Promotions Card

Long Island City, NY (March 14th, 2013)– Unbeaten southpaw Light Heavyweight contender Ronson Frank, a Guyana native now fighting out of Rosedale, New York, will headline the main event of an eight bout card at Five Star Banquet in Long Island City, New York, on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, promoted by Uprising Promotions.
Frank, now 16-0, eight knockouts, has been inactive since stopping Anthon Ferrante in Yonkers, New York, on January 28, 2011. at 35 years old and with two years of inactivity, Frank will fight the main event against potential spoiler Sharif Kemp of Georgia, 8-5, six knockouts. Kemp, a winner of six of his first eight professional bouts, is coming off a decision win over Billy Cunningham in Atlanta in July 2012. Kemp, a 180 to 195 pound cruiserweight, will have to come down in weight to 175 to fight Frank, who has fought between 175 and 179 pounds in the past four years.
The USA New York State Light Heavyweight title remains vacant. Frank won the vacant belt by fifth round stoppage over Alexander Mancera at the Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, New York, in April 2010, but never defended the belt.
Three female flyweight bouts will be featured on the card. The female bouts will be two minute rounds. Flyweight Susan Reno fights Jacqueline Park in a four rounder, while Flyweight Eileen Olszewski fights Patricia Alcivar in a eight rounder. Supr Bantamweight Unique Harris fights Jennifer Santiago in a four rounder.
Welterweight Pete Reyes faces Lavor Slade in a four rounder. Light middleweight Valdrin Muriqi fights Juan Zapata in a four rounder. Super middleweights Michael Ocasio, Karim Richardson, and Rob Piela are also featured in bouts on the card.
