Las Vegas, NV (November 29th, 2019)– The UFC 246 super-fight will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to UFC President Dana White.
He’s big, he’s bad, and he’s back! Former two-division UFC champion Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor will return to The Octagon on January 18, 2019, at UFC 246, to fight UFC veteran Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in a welterweight nontitle bout at 170 pounds.
McGregor, age 31, 21-4 with 18 knockouts MMA, 9-2 UFC, associated with SGB Ireland, Dublin, Ireland, has previously fought at 170 pounds twice against Nate Diaz. ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone, age 36, 36-13 with 10 knockouts MMA, 23-10 UFC, and one no-contest, associated with BMF Ranch, Broomfield, Colorado, was last active in The Octagon in September 2019, as opposed to McGregor being out of the ring over a year. McGregor last appeared in the Octagon in October 2008, losing in a bid to win the UFC Lightweight championship from Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib is set to fight Tony Ferguson in April to defend his championship.
There’s no doubt Conor McGregor adds excitement to the sport of MMA, despite his numerous ongoing troubles with the law. More than just an MMA fighter, McGregor has already duked it out with Floyd Mayweather Jr. for ten rounds, and a third MMA world title at 170 pounds would be an additional feather in his outstanding and notorious career.
