Iron Mike Productions Presents ESPN2 Friday Night Fights at Turning Stone August 23

New York, NY (July 21, 2013)– Iron Mike Tyson may still be ‘the baddest man on the planet’. He’s back in the boxing ring. Not, however, as the fighter, but as the promoter in his latest team venture, Iron Mike Productions. Iron Mike’s new promotional company will promote the season finale of ESPN2 Friday Night Fights on August 23, 2013 at Turning stone Casino in Verona, New York. According to Mike, “I want to see successful fighters, and great fighters, and I would hate to see fighters wind up like me (how my career ended up). It’s so awesome to be involved with the game (of boxing) again. It’s just so awesome.”

Fighters in Iron Mike’s stable include: Argenis Mendez, Joan Guzman, Claudio Marrero, Ed Paredes, Shannon ‘The Cannon’Briggs, Domonique Dalton, Isiah Thomas, Juan Carlos Payano, Humberto Savigne, Felix Diaz, Yudel Jhonson, Hylon Williams Jr., Alexei Collado, Moises Flores, Lenin Castillo, Glendy Hernandez, Albert Bell and Robert Alfonzo.
The August 23 Turning Stone card will feature World Junior Light champion Argenis Mendez (21-2, 11 knockouts) defending his title against Arash Usmanee (20-1, 10 knockouts) in the main event. Featherweights Jesus Andres Cuellar (22-1, 18 knockouts) and Claudio Marrero (14-0, 11 knockouts) will fight the other featured televised bout. Also scheduled to appear on Iron Mike’s first promtional card will be 12-0 light heavyweight prospect Isiah Thomas against tested and true Glen ‘The Road Warrior’ Johnson (52-18-2, 36 knockouts), and 14-0 bantamweight Juan Carlos Payano.
